I noticed this too! (especially because I needed to recreate the scene between him and Karen, and I had the thought that if this kind of dialogue was written in a fanfic I'd think it was over-the-top, lol).
He likened to Mrs Fisk's memories to gossamer as well. And then was extremely annoyed when Karen didn't seem to appreciate his purple prose, haha.
Ah yes, that was the other example that I couldn't think of specifically! Not sure that kind of poetry is Karen's favourite thing to be honest- I see her as a spoken word poetry slam kind of person :P
