Here's my theory (as a fellow Alias-lover who also wants to talk about this! Yay!):

I think that they're going to ditch Jessica having been a well-known superhero prior to things with Kilgrave for obvious reasons. From the trailers it seems like she's still going to maybe have gotten her powers the same way, but that maybe she never told anyone and Kilgrave found out and then began abusing her and using her once he knew, hence it being probably a lot darker AND her captivity with him being a lot longer than in Alias. I like that idea because it also means that her embracing her own powers will be tied to how she feels about Kilgrave, which is more complex. They seem to really want to tie the two together and have them parallel each other in a similar way to the arc with Fisk and Matt in Daredevil - have them be two sides of a coin somehow?

hmm that's an interesting theory. i do seem to remember the summary for the netflix show mentioning that she did a brief stint as a superhero though? though that could be just a summary taken from alias and assumed to apply to the netflix show as well and not be accurate.

i'm so excited i can't wait for friday!!!
