This is very true.

Not to get into full details on an anon kinkmeme, but I witnessed someone die in a sudden and traumatic way last year, and it took me at least a week to put the timeline of events into correct order in my brain. It was all jumbled up. And even now, I'm discovering that there are bits that I've forgotten.

That said, yes, technically what happened to Nobu is some degree of manslaughter (as was what happened to that Russian that Matt threw over a building in ep 2), but I doubt very much we as an audience are meant to take away from the Nobu fight that Matt thinks "Hur hur, I killed him but it doesn't count because he's ~Asian~"

It doesn't count because Nobu was seconds away from killing Matt and Matt defended himself. And Nobu was STILL trying to kill Matt even as he was burning.

Oh nonnie, that's a terribly traumatic things to have in your head. I'm sorry life handed you that experience. :(

I agree with you about Matt trying to defend himself with Nobu and it looks like Nobu actually accidentally (maybe) kills himself. It might be involuntary manslaughter tho, sure, and it always makes my eye twitch when fandom gets in an uproar about Matt being racist because apparently he only kills Asians and Russians? Oh fandom. FYI, Matt didn't kill the Russian he threw over the roof; Matt was right, that guy lived and ended up in the hospital. That same Russian, was actually killed by the Ranskahov brothers, his own peeps, who injected him with enough adrenaline to wake him up and dish dirt on DD but the adrenaline also killed him. I wish fandom would stop wrongly attributing that death to Matt. :(
