Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

Matt, mood disorder throughout his life

(Anonymous) 2015-08-15 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen some neat fic for Matt having an eating disorder throughout his life and I always really like in general seeing things from a sort of developmental 'how did we get here' perspective. So - Matt's mood disorder throughout his life? I'd enjoy reading either depression or bipolar (since I think it's kind of vague in the comics?) but I just want to know what it would be like for him growing up with either of those.

Multiple fills encouraged, I am also writing a version of this already that I may or may not finish but I want a million of them regardless.

Oh man, Matt in the comics with bipolar would so fit. Depression FOR SURE but then there were all the times he did ridiculous and outlandish things that make me think (hypo)mania. Like the twin brother. Facepalm.

It focuses on both Matt and Foggy having mental illness and mood disorders throughout law school and to the present.

AYRT His mental breakdown starting in issue 40 of volume 2 is definitely an upswing. The whole thing where he makes rash decisions and seems REALLY HAPPY while his friends are like 'Matt you're out of control' and he's like NO I'M NOT and then how he realizes maybe his spontaneous marriage to Milla might have all been part his mental illness - that's probably the definition of mania. Figuring out that some of the things you did when you felt great were intertwined with your mental illness telling you to do really crazy things. I've been there, man. I mean, I didn't get married, but I've been there.

Ah the twin brother Mike Murdock. I actually don't really count anything prior to the 1980's as a sign of characters' mental health though because comics were really campy before the modern age (~1980s) But I think modern age Matt would 100% fit into the guidelines.

I actually already read that one lol. I am very, very thirsty and I mainly want bipolar Matt throughout his life but I didn't want to exclude depression because I would read that too.
