Not OP, but it is interesting to see the dynamic between Matt and Frank.
To make the plot more complicated, how about if Matt is not jealous? OK he IS in some way, but what he concerns more right now is the deduction that fake Maria was sent by Frank's old enemy to harm him (maybe he senses some evidence by using his outstanding senses). And of course fake!Maria knows that he will find out that she is just a bait, so she make up some scenes to let everyone think that Matt is losing his mind gradually because of envy (Well, I was inspired by the comic Punisher: in the blood and Daredevil volume 3).
So what makes Matt REALLY mad is not that Frank suddenly withdrawing from his life, but that people around him all think he is blinded by emotion. He JUST wants to warn the coming of danger, holy cow, what they see him as? A teenager in crazy love?
And meanwhile Frank is chasing the fake!Maria. He knows she is not the woman he falls love with, what he needs to do now is finding the guy dares to plot against him and give punishment. He refused Matt's suggestion of quitting this chase for truth because he assumes Matt knows he will reject the dead coming back (in several canons he says that his family and he belong to death), and Matt asked him to stay away from this is motivated by hoping he can heal just by seeing his family (Maybe Matt does not to sound like a jealous lover so he did not make the reason clear). Hell no.
