Re: Marci Stahl character study

My god, yes. there will never be enough fic feat. Marci.

Marci who loves Foggy because he's in it for the same reasons she is--to really make a difference. she and Matt actually used to get along even if they disagreed about things like the role of violence in reforming the law. A marci who was actually more idealistic than Matt, who was adamant that people should operate within the bounds of the law even when trying to effect change.

and when the compromises start to come, it changes her relationship with foggy and matt. instead of six hours having meandering discussions about precedent and constitutionality and the role of judges, maybe fifteen minutes of furious back-and-forth about whether "earning to give" is bullshit, followed by forty agonizing minutes of Not Talking About It.

Foggy sides with Matt and Marci knows, even before he says anything. Matt starts treating Marci coolly, and she wants to cry. She doesn't, she comes back just as cutting as he can be. (And if she goes back to her room, cries violently for ten minutes, then hits the library for three hours, well, Nelson and Murdock don't get to know that.)

Marci, who looks at Nelson and Murdock sometimes and just, wonders. Just for a little bit. Because wishing is a waste of time (and time is money and money is power etc), but just wonders. What if they invited her along. What if she said yes. And then she shakes herself and goes back to packing her things and figuring out what she's going to do now that she's not employed by L&Z.
