Re: Fill: nothing he can't endure [3/?]

Thank you! The previous fic was pretty limited to only Foggy and Matt, I wanted to include more of the people in their lives, especially since I wanted to show that Matt's confession was having a visible impact on their lives, one that others were able to pick up on (hence Karen).

Foggy's a lawyer, so of course he'd try to get at Stick through courts. Picking the possible charges was easy for me, criminal liability for first degree rape in NY does not fall under any limitation clause, so it'd be infinitely easy for Foggy to establish jurisdiction over the guy. But how can you prosecute and sentence a man who only goes by 'Stick' and who is gods know where? Criminal proceedings are not commenced in absentia, so Foggy would actually have to HAVE the guy to press charges. So he'd need to find him.

And who'd be a better help with that than Foggy's lovely P.I. neighbour Jess? Especially since - as it'll be mentioned in the next part - Jess has some serious problems with child rapists.

But that's next time! Also next time, mentions of Foggy's family members and the guys attempting to communicate.

As for the sidenote: it's probably going to stay gen (some very light dancing around the edge of pre-slash at best), because this would be some really bad timing for big love revelations and getting together. However, there will be some more talk of people thinking that Matt and Foggy should be dating/are made for each other/are already dating, and perhaps even a callback to Matt's confession of love (platonic or otherwise) way back in the first fic.
