Re: [gen or any/any] Leverage crossover

They treated every season's finale as if it was their last, because due to weird ratings and cable contracts they never knew they were gonna be renewed or not for a long time. And they got to end the show how they wanted, believing it was probably their final episode. Which, you can tell, so many callbacks to the pilot in that series finale, a sense of finality but also that the team will go on in the future. And I think that's great.

Listening to the DVD commentaries and podcast, they did have a few other ideas for episodes, but to be honest, looking at Season 5, I think they were scraping a bit. I can't name a single bad episode in that whole show, which is an impressive feat I think. It remains my favorite show, ever.

I think we're always gonna have wanted more of it, because it was so good. But I think that's better than the alternative: years of declining quality as they scrambled for more ideas, like most shows do. What we have are five pretty much perfect seasons of television. I don't know if any other fandom can claim that kind of quality to content ratio.

And I mean, the same writers and showrunners are doing a show with the same network, one of the same actors, same basic team makeup (Mom & Dad and the Three Kids) now. The Librarians isn't amazing yet but I think they'll find their feet in Season 2 like Leverage did.
