In season 1, Karen made some reckless choices and often put herself in pretty extreme danger. My headcanon is that she's suffering from survivor's guilt over her dead coworker (Daniel), and she's subconsciously trying to get herself killed because she doesn't feel like she deserves to survive when Daniel didn't.

I'd love a fic exploring her state of mind (feeling like Daniel deserved to live more than she did, because he had a whole life and a family, while she's all alone in a new city and left her old life behind).

I'd give my first born for a fic where Foggy and/or Matt finds out how she's feelings and comforts her. Gen or Matt/Foggy/Karen would be great.
