A refined (and possibly photoshopped) version of the photo was already doing the rounds on Amblr. Apparently the shadows on the left edge of it were cast by human bodies, and it wasn't difficult to tell that they must be the idiots who tried to hurt Daredevil's boyfriend. Unconscious, not dead, because that's how Daredevil prefers to operate.
