OMG, please check out the Marvel 2 AU of Darkdevil who is actually related to that AU's Spider-Girl. Darkdevil's kind of based on the Spider-Man clone saga and relies on the very, very close bond between Spider-Man and Daredevil, while also incorporating Ghost Rider (Zarathos) into the young body of one of the Spider clones.

The bad part of this series? Matt is physically dead. (killed trying to defend a villain against an even bigger villain. GDI MATT)
The best part of this series? Matt is psychically alive. He's effectively an angel who is still fighting against evil (demons) by residing in the body of the young Spider clone.

The young Spider clone has some of Matt's memories which spur him to study law, be a vigilante to protect people, and also seek an internship with Foggy (♥) at (what was) Nelson & Murdock. It's a short series but pretty good.

I DON'T THINK MY HEART COULD TAKE THIS. ESP THE PART WHERE MATT DIES AND THE SPIDER CLONE GETS AN INTERNSHIP WITH FOGGY.

IKR? Matt basically drives this clone to go home, and home is basically Foggy Nelson. I can't remember if Kaine Parker (the evil original Peter Parker clone who Matt died trying to defend) ever tells people Matt is dead, though? Someone refresh my memory! Matt/DD dies trying to protect Kaine from Kingpin and Kaine (who actually legit cries over Matt being dead) carries Matt's dead body away to try to revive him all night, but it doesn't work. I don't remember if Foggy was able to bury Matt or if he just assumed DD is dead somewhere and never knows for sure? And then the teenage Spider clone shows up seeking an internship and, omg, Matt's there but Foggy doesn't know...

Darkdevil is the SON of the Spiderclone, not the Spiderclone himself. Kaine and Peter Parker are his uncles. He's Spidergirl's cousin, and biologically, her half-brother. Never sure if he was actually older or younger, but he teases her like an irritating brother.

We never received concrete info on what happened to Daredevil's body. Last seen, it was in the Jackal's old hidden laboratory that Kaine was using as a secret hideout and where he was keeping baby!Darkdevil. Kaine abruptly abandons baby!Darkdevil when he accidentally gets the kid possessed. Baby!Darkdevil is shown living in the laboratory afterward. He returns years later to take advantage of the devices. We do not see dead Daredevil.

At one point, Fisk asks Foggy if his partner is truly dead. (Darkdevil always talks to Fisk as if he is indeed a ghost risen from the dead.) Foggy says, "Many years ago now." He is nonchalant. He seems over the grief and has no idea Matt is back.

The Writer said that people were aware that Matt Murdock had been Daredevil, though it wasn't something they would immediately remember. I always figured Kaine took the body and placed it where it would be found, kind of like the Spider-man movie did with Norman Osborn. Kaine was an old fashioned kind of guy, and I think he valued the idea of family having a body to bury.

Oh, wow! I read some of Spider-Girl years ago, and I didn't really know anything about Daredevil, but I always thought Darkdevil was just Ben Reilly (the spider clone) for some reason dressing up as DD. I had no idea he was also (?) Matt's ghost.

Darkdevil was kind of Spider-Girl's mentor, and I remember he was always kind of a dick to her. Like, not cruel but he antagonized her as a way of motivating her. I guess he was copying Stick's teaching style a little. xD

Yes, that's right! He pushed her to be better, do better, and I don't think he actually tells her about how they're related until Zarathos catches him and is about to kill him and Spider-Girl rescues him? Man, it's been a long time since I read this but now I really want to go back and fill in the blanks because I'm not remembering some things.

Do you remember what series number he told her this? Last I knew the alternate universe Spidergirl series was over and he'd never told her anything.
