They're always talking up their connections to the locals of Hell's Kitchen, maybe he knows a top notch tailor personally and gets his suits at a discounted price from what they should be?

Ooh, maybe the old dude that he saved from the car crash as a kid is a tailor, or has a tailor in the family.

OP - yes, you're sharing my brain, nonny. Matt calls his city his 'family' so he must have some old connections floating around, probably even people who knew Matt from when he was a tyke, from when Jack was still alive.
