I now everyone's recommending to start with Waid, but if you want something a bit less jarring in tone and closer to the show (because Waid's run is a bit lighter and comic-bookier), start with Brian Michael Bendis' run on Daredevil.
Bendis' arc is all about the repercussions when Matt's identity as Daredevil leaks to the press. It's got an amazing Matt/Foggy friendship element going on, and Kingpin plays a huge role, and it's just this dark, sad, tragic, epic mess of a story that will break your heart.
Marvel Unlimited has his entire run - it's basically a Netflix for Marvel comics where you pay $10 bucks a month and can read as many as you want (and they even have promos where the first month is a free trial, so hit that up - that's what I originally did!)
Brian Michael Bendis is awesome
