ep 3 court case

I don't understand something (everything, lol) about the court case in episode 3.

What was so important about that woman juror, the one who was being blackmailed? What were they trying to get her to do, and why did Matt want her off the jury?

Why was Matt disappointed that the jury was "hung"? Did he not want to win?

I don't understand this law stuff, lol ^^;

they were trying to make her deliver a not-guilty verdict against her will. matt wanted her off the jury because it was an improper way to conduct a case. just because it meant matt would win the case more easily was nothing to him.

honestly, i don't think matt really cared if he won or lost. he clearly thought there was something fishy with the guy, and he knew something was up, but he had to defend him so he made do and he tried to make his defense as solid as possible because lawyers have to do right by their clients no matter if they agree with the charges against them or not.

hope that helps!
