Less than 24 hours until the new season! To celebrate, we have a shiny new discussion post where all squee and talk and meta can go without accidentally spoiling anyone who doesn't want to see it.
So I write because I see a prompt that intrigues me. I never ever beg for replies or hold chapters hostage until people say something. But I continue to be surprised by how often (most of the time, really) my stories here get zero response. Like not even the prompter saying thanks for giving it a shot.
I don't think it's the stories, because when I post them at ao3 or ff.net I'll get plenty of nice comments, so I can only assume it's this site. Does this happen to any other authors here? Do these communities just tend to generate less response?
*shrug* I've seen writers here say that they don't bother to check back on their fill threads after the first week. So I've stopped stressing over leaving comments here once a few days have passed.
I think it's because everyone are all over season 2? Traffic for its prompt and discussion posts are crazy, while I haven't seen much activity over here. It's just the innitial rush, it will pass.
That, and people assume authors will post to AO3/FFN anyway, so they wait to drop comments over there. It's more permanent imo.
Yeah, I was in the season two area writing a new season 2 fic. I think I've realized that people just aren't that responsive here. In the future I'm just gonna skip posting here and post elsewhere. No big.
This isn't true of the meme but on Ao3 the fandom has the largest amount of reader pairings I've ever seen. Usually it's RPFs that I see that kind of squirks me in the real person aspect (not my kink whatever). But I am alway surprised to see the amount of first person fic on the fandom. First time nice seen that as a normal thing for the fandom.
Sometimes I thik OP forget to even check the prompt they made and if tehys ee it posted in Ao3 and go hey that's my promppt. They will leave message there, I guess?
In case anyone else is still interested, I think it's Bruce Banner! Indestructible Hulk #9 was included in one of the hardbacks of Waid's run, and it has Matt as his lawyer against dodgy SHIELD shenanigans while he works with them.
