Looking for fic about Danny's first few weeks there.

I mean... he's a kid. He just lost both parents. And now he's in a foreign culture entirely with these monks, and most of the people around him likely don't speak English, and they take him in and... then what happens?

Do they initially refuse to train him and it's his idea to stay at the monastery? Does he try and convince them to let him leave and search for his mom? How does he actually end up living there and adjusting to it all?

His backstory in the show is soooooo messed up. I just need fic to address it better than the show did.
