Matt-centric gap filler between s2 and The Defenders (gen)

I will admit that I haven't followed the latest kinkmeme posts, so I apologize in advance if something like this has been posted before. If so, I'm happy for the mods to delete it. That said...

I would die for a fic based on something Charlie Cox has said in a recent interview: [At the start of The Defenders,] it’s been a few months since the end of season 2. I think it’s been quite a challenging few months for [Matt]. He took the death of Elektra very badly —I think he feels responsible for that. One of Matt’s big things is trying to protect the people he loves, which is why he keeps his identity hidden, and he’s failed. He’s left holding the dead body of a loved one, and so I think he’s tried to turn a corner.

It’s almost like quitting an addiction in the hope that it will get easier. He’s perhaps a little bit lost, and the best he can do for now is to not engage in his vigilante activities. When we meet him at the beginning of The Defenders, I’m not sure he’s completely found peace with that idea. I think he’s doing the best with what he can at the time. He finds himself between a rock and a hard place, which is the crux of his issue really from the beginning of season 1. “Should I or shouldn’t I? What is more beneficial to society?”

Interestingly, most post-season 2 fics seem to be going the opposite direction, with Matt fully throwing himself into his Daredevil persona.

Now, what I really want is all the fanfic of guilty, lost Matt in those months after season 2, agonizing over how not to give into the addiction, maybe fighting a few depressive spells, trying to make amends with Foggy, and throwing himself into his day job like there's no tomorrow. How does he run a law firm all by himself? Does he even run a law firm all by himself?

Not a necessity (cause I'm happy with just Matt & Foggy), but it may be interesting to also explore Karen a little more. Is she angry with Matt? Will she need time and withdraw? Will she embrace the idea and support him?

Gen preferred.
