Some mean kids leave Foggy a love letter and sign Matt's name on it.
Matt never noticed Foggy, until Foggy comes up to him with that letter saying that he's had a crush on Matt for a while and he's so glad that Matt feels the same way.
Matt feels bad for him, and he can probably hear the pranksters quietly laughing and talking shit about Foggy several feet away, so he pretends that he really did write the letter. He agrees to go out with Foggy, figuring that it won't last because none of Matt's relationships last. He figures Foggy will be like all the others: fascinated by the blind guy, but once the novelty wears off he won't be interested anymore.
But oops, Matt ends up totally falling for Foggy and wanting to stay with him. And then Foggy finds out about the prank and he thinks Matt is only staying with him out of pity.
If you want, you can even nix the high school AU part and have this take place in undergrad or law school. I basically just want a Matt/Foggy romcom.
