For things that are neither prompts nor questions for the mod. Talk about the show, ask for help finding lost prompts, organise fic fests or whatever else you want. Discuss away!

As an author, those really detailed, longfic prompts are usually enough to make me back the fuck off and go somewhere else even if I like the prompt. Because it's too detailed and I'll basically be writing someone else's idea with no room for my own if I filled it. And that's not interesting or exciting to me. There's no room to develop anything.

I mean, people can prompt those things sure. But I ain't going to fill it.

Heh, so I'm guilty of prompting one or two crazy detailed prompts. I swear, usually I'm fairly good at keeping things simple-ish - main prompt is the basic scenario, bonuses are for directions I think would be cool. I've actually gotten a bunch of fills with that formula, for which I am so grateful.

But yeah, once or twice I've posted something absolutely ridiculous - too long, way too detailed, a why-don't-you-just-write-this-yourself kind of thing. I am guilty, I admit it.

But I also never once expected to get a fill for those prompts. Mostly I posted them just to get a headcanon off my brain. I did one recently that basically got chirrups, which I totally expected. I did one a few posts ago that got a shockingly good response. (I think it helped that that one led to a very porny place, lmao.)

I TOTALLY get why someone would back off from filling a prompt that's just too much. But in at least a couple of cases, rest assured that no fill was actually expected, lol.

SA

That said - even I side-eye some prompts occasionally, especially the ones that detail every character's 'correct' reaction and take 500+ words to detail what HAS to happen, what CANNOT happen, and how the climax of this requested 50 chapter epic should come together. Those are a bit...yeah.
