Wow, what a fascinating fic! I like the ambiguity all through it, about the devil's motives and what Matt wants, and whether Matt should get any of what he wants. I particularly the line where the devil talks about being "the adversary and the tempter, the prosecutor and the blight both," because that's such a neat flip on the usual religious question of how God can be both great AND good, and also a pointed parallel to the problem of Matt being both a vigilante AND a lawyer.
