Oh, if this is *after* they meet each other, iPad would have more grounding as to what's going on--of course Imperious is being auctioned off at one of those hyper-fancy places he's heard about.
And I think it would be really fascinating to see how iPad tries to interact with the other slaves, because he barely, if ever does in his own stories. Hearing the other slaves all reinforce each other's brainwashing (even reciting mantras at/in chorus with each other) might be a real moment of true terror. And maybe even some of the slaves are fans of Opposite, and tell iPad how jealous they are of his papers, how they're working to also become so valuable, and they're looking forward to seeing in the news who buys him and for how much.
I don't quite think that they make slaves do much on the auction block itself--they probably have them strip naked or wear teasingly revealing clothes, like short shorts, and an Amex Agencies monogrammed temporary collar, and then kneel down with their arms and faces on the floor on a monogrammed cushion on the block to the deafening cheers. There's a whole art to the slow, seductive kneeling, too, and Opposite would be irritated that iPad does it jerkily because he doesn't want to do it at all, like dammit, this is something someone should have taught you! Plus I doubt iPad would realize that Opposite would want him to be doing crunches/push ups/yoga in the cell, because that's what Opposite was doing.
