No major wank yet but maybe something here to monitor.

Ugh. These both need to be addressed.

Please delete. Accidentally posted when it was meant to be a reply to something else. Thanks in advance!

Not sure either of these cross a line yet, but you might want to keep an eye on them. (Honestly not sure if a troll or an honest Matt hater.)

Just bringing this thread to your attention, it feels like trollbait to me.

Sorry about that.

Psst mod? This part of a thread might be worth watching, just in case.

Hi, this post I made generated a lot of discussion, and has been frozen.

http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/8423.html?thread=16414439#cmt16414439: I could see this working. Foggy is not the perfect nice guy represented in fandom currently which I find kind of boring anyway. There can be a shades/darkness to him which is for the most part taken humourously, but not if you examine it closely - for e.g. his stalking of Karen, his sleazy attitude towards women, in particular when he says knowing Matt will help him with a 'whole caliber of women he's only dreamed about' (yuck, yuck, YUCK) and that skeevy business of moving Matt's furniture to disorient him. Because nothings funnier than a blind man falling and stumbling around.

I'd like to see this filled. A darker Foggy would be great.

A serious question: Did this post cross the line, because I thought I was just posting an opinion?

Looks like this is a Matt hater? http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/8423.html?thread=16465127#cmt16465127

Can you remind people of spoilers?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-09 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Since the new Capt America movie came out, we'll be getting prompts and fills based on it, and even though it's been a weekend, can you remind people to label their prompts and fills SPOILER? Just for week or so, since it's finals week and we all don't have time to see it.

Hi, I've updated in sort of the wrong place http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/7552.html?thread=16500864#cmt16500864. Would it be okay to delete so I can post correctly?
Thank you.

Psst Mod? This thread is getting heated and falling into a lot of anger over a single comment: http://daredevilkink.dreamwidth.org/8423.html?thread=16584167#cmt16584167

there's nothing in the rules against character bashing I saw, but I don't know if it's tolerated, even if it's against a character that isn't the focus of these kinkmeme?

I just - Tony Stark is one of my favorite characters, and I normally ignore these, but this is a prompt that's clearly just out to slam Stark as much as possible. Could you maybe ask them to reword it? To something like "Using a child soldier that you didn't even inform what the actual nature of the conflict is against Captain America and his friends? DD and Frank kick Tony Stark's ass.

Bonus points if Nelson & Murdock reforms to sue the shit out of Tony Stark"

Like ... just change the name to Stark? Would make the prompt better?

(frozen comment) Was this thread deleted?

I swear I posted a comment/thread to the discussion post encouraging people to post usernames if they were okay with taking prompts related to shootings to help out that OP. Did I hallucinate this, or was the thread deleted?

Just thought you might want to see this before people start responding.

Hey, Mod, I wasn't in the original thread about shooting prompts, and I wasn't trolling by asking the second question about the shooting. That reason wasn't explained, because it was only discussed in the specific context of making prompts about the Orlando shooting or shootings similar to it. My question was about the fact any and all mass-shooting prompts not related to specific events that happened. The implication was that even prompts unrelated but still containing a shooting element - i.e. maybe an AU in which Foggy and Matt had to deal with an active shooter in Columbia - were banned, despite the fact they're not related to the Pulse.

Banning any and all shooting prompts on the basis of the Orlando massacre is, to my understanding, like banning any and all rape prompts because of the Stanford rape case - yet we still allow rape prompts provided they are tagged with 'non-con'. This has been confusing me for upwards of two years now, and since people were already talking about it, I asked. I actually originally asked in-thread, but in between me opening the tab and me hitting 'post', the thread was frozen, which is why I started the new thread.

Maybe it's because I live in a city where shootings happen all the time, and had a mass-shooting at the school in my neighborhood. For me, shootings happen all the time, so the idea that there is a time period of unacceptability - and thus a time period of acceptability - makes no sense. They happen all the time, which means they are never acceptable, which makes them a particularly unique taboo in fandom that I cannot understand, given all the other incredibly dark, controversial, and violent things people write with no drama as long as it's tagged correctly. I legitimately do not understand and I'm trying to understand why we draw the line at shootings and not other forms of mass-murder, rape, torture, child abuse, yadda yadda yadda.

Fandom is supposed to be a safe and welcoming space, yet for whatever reason, fanworks related to shootings are continuously lambasted. I see it on Tumblr, where there are all sorts of nasty responses to fanart of characters crying over recent events. I've seen a variation on Facebook. And now I'm seeing it on kinkmemes, which - given their very nature - have been the least judgmental of unusual coping mechanisms or people exorcising grief and other demons through fanworks.

Why draw the line here, and not elsewhere?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-19 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Can you please explain to me the rule about changing subject lines? I've been noticing here lately that people been filling the prompts, but it's just the title of the story and that was it. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just really confused. Thanks!
