He would need screenreader software too. That's what controls the Braille display. It also actually reads the text on the screen, which when turned up really fast (takes practice to understand!) is useful for skimming a page and just plain easier than the Braille display sometimes. He probably wouldn't get that in a store though, he'd more likely download it if he doesn't have a computer with it pre-instated (like macs do).
