Something horrible happens to Matt while he is Daredevil. Like, really, really horrible - up to you exactly what, although I would prefer no permanent maiming - that screws him up emotionally/mentally, and the Avengers bring in Owen Grady to rehabilitated Matt, figuring Matt is basically a packless raptor.
