I love Tony. (And Pepper.) Honestly, part of why I refuse to watch Age of Ultron (besides all the horrible reviews and my husband's disrecommendation) is that they jump backwards in Tony's characterization to get to Ultron from Iron Man 3. Come on, guys, part of what I liked about the movies was that characters were allowed to grow more than they are in a monthly comic! What's with the about-face?
Whoa, you didn't really need to hear that. What you needed to hear was, I'm sorry this is a deleted scene, because it's just pitch perfect, and making Tony sympathetic (more than just "haven't bribed the guy enough to like me yet" that we got earlier, which was also heartbreakingly awesome) helps round out the overbearing jerk we see from Matt's point of view.
