also! regarding prom stuff: the promposals i've seen at my school have gotten hilariously out of hand. one time i had to help a guy actually serenade his girlfriend (the guy brought his guitar and everything, it was unreal). it's not a big deal if you don't bring a date, tho. i was too sick to go to prom but a bunch of my friend group went stag together.
