OP - or, or or or, you know, that whole bring-him-over-to-the-darkside thing could still be their plan, but it's only afterwards - after Matt feels like the ground has swallowed him up, after they realize they've unintentionally really hurt him (and Fisk never thought he'd ever see the day where he'd feel disgusted with himself for making an "enemy" cry) - that they come to the realization that it's not what they actually want anymore? idk???
