Re: Fisk/Matt/Vanessa - Mistaken betrayal

OP - (Me too, potential author anon! I love brainstorming). But - oooh, yes. I like that. Vanessa was raised to be a proper, classy lady. To be the rock in the relationship, but not to be a doormat. To be powerful in that way. I can totally see it. So while she values honesty, I think she probably also knows how not to ask questions she's not prepared to know the answer to. And to give herself that extra bit of protection ("Oh no, he never told me about that, I swear").

Oh oh oh, but let's talk about Matt for a second. He's always so in control and preoccupied with taking care of everyone else and you just know that he secretly just doesn't want to have to deal with any of it for a second. But he always has to be focused and reined in just to be able to function with those senses of his. So like, there is some serious potential for dom!Fisk & dom!Vanessa to just take care of a Matt who doesn't even know that that's what he needs. Like, the moment he's pinned down and can't move and just - oh.

Also, let's talk about the whole eventual "betrayal" of trust thing - can you imagine Vanessa eventually convincing him to allow them to work in sensory-deprivation into the bedroom? Because while Fisk fulfills the physical need to be dominated, Vanessa has probably extrapolated just how much sensory input Matt is constantly bombarded with. That's ultimate trust. More so than just a really good hate fuck.
