I can't remember if Kaine Parker (the evil original Peter Parker clone who Matt died trying to defend) ever tells people Matt is dead, though? Someone refresh my memory! Matt/DD dies trying to protect Kaine from Kingpin and Kaine (who actually legit cries over Matt being dead) carries Matt's dead body away to try to revive him all night, but it doesn't work. I don't remember if Foggy was able to bury Matt or if he just assumed DD is dead somewhere and never knows for sure? And then the teenage Spider clone shows up seeking an internship and, omg, Matt's there but Foggy doesn't know...
