I have to agree with you, nonny. I... really can't believe Matt has a terrible credit score? I believe he's gone through a hellish life to get where he is, but he's too, erm, obsessively correct about weird minutiae (and by minutiae I mean being a good boy - maybe it's all that catholic guilt) to let his credit score suck. (Late on a payment? NEVER. Avoid the hospital and stitch your own stab wounds? OF COURSE.)
Honestly. I don't care how bad the Avengers (film) tore up Manhattan, it's difficult to believe some heart-of-gold NYC real estate agent approving a broke-ass, newly-licensed blind lawyer with a craptastic FICO for 'an expensive shithole'. You saw how the other agent for their tiny little law office was all 'are you in on this discounted deal or not' etc, and Foggy was still making a FIGHT ME face and ready to keep looking for something even cheaper, and Matt blithely steps in and says, 'We'll take it' while Foggy glares at him. And again, there's Matt spending a lot of money they supposedly don't have.
I guess it's not so much the quality of the clothes Matt is wearing, it's his attitude towards money in general. He's the original Sensitive Guy so, yes, I can see he'd need good quality materials to wear or sleep on that don't make him feel like he's being tortured every second of every day, but everything he needs or has requires money, a lot of money. Which makes me want to look for a source of income. (How many sugar daddies in the MCU besides Stark? I kinda want to make suspicious eyes at Marc Spector...)
