like. "bisexual steve rogers" is only a thing in fandom, and Absolutely Definitely Not A Thing in canon, but one of those options is boring and irritating, and one of them is MY JAM, so.
same kind of deal? canon "Foggy Nelson" is absolutely a creeper, and in real life he's the kind of guy you'd have to have several horrifying, painful discussions with - and maybe quit your job and work at Taco Bell for a couple of months - but in fandom we (hopefully) surgically remove/fix the aspects of his character that are honestly Fucking Gross.
