the word "prostitute" is, from everyone I've read or listened to, not the word want to be called.
people still sell sex for money, they just don't like calling it prostitution, because that's the kind of slur that gets people up in arms.
(and see, there's another anon saying that "prostitute" is the accepted word and "full service sex worker" is a rude term for what people do, so obviously this is a very individual-industry-specific sort of situation.)
...like, other anons know people who are uncomfortable with their stripping/camming being labeled sex work? and i know people who do those jobs and call it sex work. so. sorry, original anon! this is basically a big, complicated, sort of controversial kind of work.)
