I think you have a raise a good point about Foggy...I think Foggy is an interesting character to discuss because we don't see him outside of his interactions with Matt, Karen, or Marci. Karen and Matt have emotional issues out the wazoo, so Foggy comes off as more normal than they are. And Marci shows up as the evil ex at first, so Foggy comes off as having the moral high ground in their first meeting. A lot of how Foggy acts when he's alone definitely has to come from our imaginations- so for all we know he goes home and cries into a bottle of beer every night.
