i feel so silly for not knowing but everyone refers to matt having three (3) friends only but in the show (i think it's 1x07) when stick asks if matt has friends/anyone he cares about matt says "yeah, two" who i figure are foggy and karen (i am amittedly confused by that because he's met and kissed claire by that point) so my questions are

was it foggy and karen that matt was referring to as his two friends/people he cares about or have i got that wrong??

who is the third friend everyone's always talking about matt having? i figure it's either claire or brett but i wanted to be 100% sure who people were talking about.
