I definitely blend them together. There are so many versions of Matt in the comics that it is easy to come up with different reactions all the time. For example, Waid's Murdock is so different than Miller's Murdock. I think the root of his personality remains mostly the same though. He has a temper. He has depressive/manic episodes. He needs Foggy to keep him grounded. No relationship ever ends well. He is self sacrificing. And he loves being Daredevil. (and sometimes he is a complete ass, lol)
