AYRT: I'm learning what works for me as a writer, too, and it's funny, because it's just about exactly the opposite of what works for me as a reader.

I adore long fics! I love it when people go crazy with AUs and crossovers! And yet I am having so much trouble writing my long fic and try to make everything as canon-compliant as possible, within the bounds of what's required for my fic.

(I also adore fic that is canon-compliant and in-character and short, but it has to be absolutely pitch-perfect, which my drivel will never be. I'd hate to apply my standards to my own writing!)
